I don't know why you would use a pro-wrestling commentator as your electronica pseudonym, but here we are.

Garbage - The One

Their recent stuff is just as good as the old stuff. I wish it got radio play, but it's just further verification that the radio sucks.

Late last night I found myself browsing irish folk music on youtube.

Fingerstyle Cittern--Jig & Reel

I have decided I'm buying a bouzouki

As the resident Greek of the forum, I approve this decision!

Also I noticed your problem as I was quoting this post. All you do to embed videos is copy/pasta the youtube url.

Like so!
St. Vincent - Digital Witness

If there is an https, the server doesn't like it. Just take the "s" out and it works just fine.

Also, I just recently discovered St. Vincent and I really wish I'd known about her sooner. Holy shit.

Wait, I just watched the video you posted, ToonFood - that's a lute. (I think). This is a Bouzouki.

It is in fact, a Cittern! (a 10 string Bouzouki)

Exactly!
This dude and Disasterpeace somehow get all these bleepy bloopy low res sounds and make 'em sit really nice in the mix. BGC's first album is great too.

^ I have BGC first one I didn't know he came out with this one (until you posted about it, thanks!).  I am pretty jelly how he gets all the sounds to play nice with each other EQ wise.  Im curious as to what he uses for the chip stuff. I use chipsounds by plogue or patches in massive etc. to do any chip things because I don't have the patience to learn trackers.

Chipsounds looks pretty cool. I made the switch over to Reason a while back so I'm a bit limited in what plug-ins I can use - I miss massive :(
Found an awesome set of NES multi samples which are my go to, although I really should branch out and play with some C64 and Gameboy stuff.

I agree, trackers are a bit of a pain but I was happy using LSDJ on my laptop until I heard a sound comparison with a real gameboy and it was so much nicer sounding. You have to fart around and mod them and stuff to get the best sound out of 'em though; and get a backlight installed.
Feck that.

^ I've tried pretty much every route with trackers Milky & Fami and even LSDJ on a Gameboy but the learning curve is just too much for me since I lack Music Theory knowledge and basically hunt my way on the keys for notes that fit etc.

I wanted to go the reason route right before I got into Ableton after seeing a few vides on it and DannyB Twitchlive stream where he made pretty much a whole track.  But a friend introduced me to U-He Diva and Zebra softsynths.  Diva is an analog that sounds so close to the real thing and Zebra is a modular style softsynth which there is a version of Zebra that you can buy that has it configured and with patches to Hans Zimmer version which he used on Dark Knight and DKR.  I had to buy it :D Those two along with NI Komplete Ult 9, Chipsounds and Korg M1 are the only synths that I will use. And Komplete is pretty much only used for strings (only bought it because of the christmas deal with crossgrade for Maschine).

Ableton is awesome - Pogo uses it and he makes the sweet jams. The work flow just makes me brain fart though

Softsynths have come a long way now and I'm trying to justify buying a hardware one. I'm excited about this analogue revival that seems to be going on, but I barely use the stuff I have now.

Then again, Korg is re-releasing the fucking Odyssey!

RIP my wallet

Back to business, I've been listening to this dude:

Best and worst.

Is it a meme yet?
I'm so out of touch with the internet nowadays.

1. Best
2. Who still cares about memes?
3. As far as "internet culture" goes, there's really no reason to keep in touch with it. Other than RMS that is.

Not really all that bothered with memes, just figured as the video was so crazy that people would be talking about it or have made a load of parodies by now. Meme was probably the wrong word.

3. Amen!

Rediscovering bands my mother listened the heck out of when I was a kid. Portishead, Massive Attack and The Prodigy. I'm glad I'm finally finding music that actually speaks to me.

Also Enya, I'm fucking all about her right now. holy butts
