Flipping your picture horizontall can also help you spot problems pretty easily, just keep flipping and fixing until things look right.

Have you ever done sprite work redlemon? Your sketches always look like they'd make well animated sprites.

Once for a game in college. Nothing very advanced. They take a lot of thinking though and I'm not good at that. Also I don't have the patience for serious animation. I get annoyed when I'm doing puppet animation at work so I don't think I'd be able to handle anything close to the real thing.

So I want get better at figure drawing or life drawing or what ever it's called.  My skills at that sort of thing are pretty weak right now.  Does anyone know of a good tutorial or book I can work along with a little bit everyday.  I find if I have a guide to follow I don't fall off the tracks as much.

REQUIRED READING: Figure Drawing for All It's Worth by Andrew Loomis.
Anatomy books are helpful (I like this one) but after you learn some of the foundational stuff from Loomis you should probably use life and photos to develop your own eye for anatomy. Your mileage may vary.

Other good practice resources:
-Croquis cafe figure drawing videos
-Pixelovely drawing tools

In terms of construction Michaels Hamptons book is my favorite.

Never got much out of loomis apart from his head and hands book.

I second the Loomis books and know a few people who recommend Glenn Vilppu's Drawing Manual (I have a copy of it, but haven't actually gone through it in depth yet.  Also going to life drawing sessions (if you can find any locally) helps a ton.  Using some of the websites that flip through pictures in intervals is nice, but I have just found that the depth and quality from attending sessions is higher than drawing from the computer screen (but your mileage may vary!)

So I just fumbled around for like 30mins just seeing how much life drawing stuff stuck with me from high school (Not very much)  Was getting a little agitated then the immortal words of non other Jake the Dog calmed me down :)

This book is also great.  It's not a standalone art lesson but is a great supplement to regular figure drawing material.
