While still not a perfect price, this one seems to be really good for the price, and it's way better than spending $800-$3000. Think I might try to shoot for this eventually. Gonna try to look at more reviews, but from what I've seen it's a step above the others.

Hell ass damn, I didn't even know there were any that cheap. I thought all the ones that price-range were crappy and tiny. Definitely gonna look into this.

I don't know how good they are but there pretty good size wise now. That price range has like 13 to 18 inch I think. You'd definitely want to read some review before hand.

Thanks, Mav. I don't mind the lateness. The well wishes are appreciated regardless of timing. So again, thank you!

Probably not a huge concern right now if your just scraping by but some of the Chinese drawing monitors are meant to be quite good now and can be got for 300~500. I have a laptop I can draw directly on at the moment but when it gets old I might get one and a desktop pc.

They say never to meet your heroes and I get that vibe right now

I'm of this belief, but mostly in a "treat your heroes like humans" thing. They're just people who have talents and also got lucky. The older I get, the less I feel like a "fan" of people (meeting some of my "heroes" from Destructoid irl definitely put stuff into perspective, though). I'll consume their content, but if I met them I'd probably just shake their hand and chill instead of jumping up and down with something to autograph. Especially if I don't know the person's values. I don't have time to even deal with "We regret to inform you that your fav is a racist". When we meet our "heroes", we're just meeting someone new. Whatever that means for us individually.

Dogs, on the other hand...

So I've come back from RTX London with a lot to think about along with the typical con flu (even though I got a flu jab and carried around three bottles of alcohol gel).

First, it was an absolute dream of mine growing up reading Destructoid and hearing about these conventions with some of my favourite artists attending and being able to meet them. I've always wanted to attend as business due to having something else to do to offset the fact none of my friends are nerdy enough to go with me.
Having a media pass allowed me opportunities to meet those YouTube personalities back stage on the corridor or in the media room so I can get those photo opportunities and signatures. It was also a humbling experience that I was able to see them off camera (and away from the public eye) so they were more relaxed and able to shoot the shit easier.
But it also broke the facade I held in my mind about them for many many years. They say never to meet your heroes and I get that vibe right now (dunno if I would have if I just met them as a fan on the show floor).

I'm of two minds now: I'd love to attend again as media to see the creators I missed and getting more of that starstruck buzz but in another sense I wouldn't mind closing the book on this chapter. I've always wanted to attend a convention like this and meet my idols and now I have so it's been done.

Heat is the worst. It can ruin an entire day, especially when you donít realize itís the heat thatís fucking with you. Happens to me all the damn time.

Iím slowly trying to pull my life back together. Both life and money have been slow moving since I moved into my new place, but things are finally going somewhere. Starting to do art again. Iíve felt like a cheap knockoff of what I used to be up until now, but Iím finally getting back to some semblance of normalcy. Now if only someone would sell me a Cintiq for $5. <3
